Profile Summary

Kathleen Foley Curley is a businessperson, technologist and thought leader in the areas of collaborative software, knowledge management and technology strategies that contribute to business value. Currently she is a Research Professor at Boston Universityís School of Management and is focusing on developing on-line learning materials for the IS professional. Prior to accepting her current position, Dr. Curley was Senior Vice President and Chief Community Builder at CommuniSpace Corporation, where she was responsible for the implementation of 35 virtual communities at client sites generating 100% year over year revenue growth.Before joining CommuniSpace, she was Chief Knowledge Management strategist for the IBM Software Group, responsible for articulating and integrating the KM and eBusiness strategies for this $14 billion division of IBM. Prior to that position, Dr. Curley was Director of Research for the Lotus Institute, where her work focused on launching products from Lotus Institute which included TeamRoom, Lotus LearningSpace and Raven, Lotusís KM platform. Dr. Curley began her career as an academic and was a tenured Professor at Northeastern University for 14 years prior to returning to industry. She has published in many academic and professional journals including MIS Quarterly, Sloan Management Review and Information and Management. She received her AB with Honors in Economics from Smith College and both her MBA and DBA degrees from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
