Karen Plescia has worked at Boston University on and off since 1998 when she came to BU as the Assistant Coordinator of Student-Athlete Support Services. In 2002, Karen became the Director of Student-Athlete Support Services and served in that role until 2006 when she left Boston University to pursue other opportunities. She returned to the University and joined the Undergraduate Program Office staff in 2010, where she has been since, as an Assistant Director û with the exception of a brief 18-month interruption in service to explore a career in animal welfare.
Karen serves as an advisor to all students, but takes the lead helping students who are transferring to Questrom from other colleges and universities. She looks forward each year to the excitement of co-planning the Questrom Convocation ceremony.
Away from BU, Karen is an active volunteer for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. She enjoys being outdoors - hiking, running, biking, and generally being in awe of nature. If forced to stay inside, you'll find Karen cooking, reading, or hanging out with her menagerie of pets. A proud New York state native, Karen has a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Higher Education from Syracuse University (Go Orange!).
